• He appeared on the census in 1851 in Upper Critchell Farm, Frome. HO 107 1932 f547 pg 14

• He worked as a Farmer (1851).

Benjamin married Fanny Herrington, daughter of Harry Herrington Of Kilmington and Fanny Hues, on 3 May 1841 in Stourton, Wiltshire. (Fanny Herrington was born about 1820 in Mere, Wiltshire.)

  Marriage Notes:

Benjamin's father is recorded as James Crees and Fanny's as Harry Harrington. While the bride's surname is recorded as Harrington, her signature and that of her witness Sarah Herrington, clearly have 'e' as a second letter.
