was assistant to Miss Winnifred Stapleton who was an Anglican missionary to the Indians first at Lac LaRonge SK then at Griswold, Manitoba; they adopted WINNIFRED (still alive 16 Sep 2001, a nurse) and JOHN STAPLETON (died in the war); in 2002 a lake in Northern Manitoba was named after JOHN STAPLETON 2
